Brendan joined nem in October 2015 and immediately cemented himself into the firm’s culture and values. Brendan had a personality larger than life, a diverse and extensive network, was a champion of the firm’s values and ethos and was a go-getter who would always make time for his fellow Partners and friends. He was loved by everyone who met him, including the entire  nem family.

In late 2018 Brendan was diagnosed with an inoperable stage-four glioblastoma and passed away 8 months later on the 6th of April, 2019. Brendan is survived by his three sons; Michael, Timmy and Joey, his daughter Bridget, and wife Helen.

It is fitting that after a corporate career that spanned over 40 years the last few years at nem were his happiest and most productive from a professional and personal perspective.

The firm continues to honour Brendan, through his family’s chosen charity, Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, with the affectionately named ‘Swear Jar’ collecting donations. Brendan was the first to contribute and appreciated the humour behind the swear jar, having some colourful phrases from time-to-time, so it’s only fitting we continue to champion his cause.
