John is a CA and commenced his career in the profession. He has an intimate knowledge of the challenges faced by the accounting, banking and consulting professions to generate lead flow and value added services. This knowledge helped to develop the VALUE Encounter Methodology that has been successfully applied and widely applied with professional services.
Noel Scully
Noel is a CPA and co-founder of the firm and has worked extensively with the accounting and banking professions over the past two decades. His knowledge of the professions and their desire to develop sustainable value added service offerings is extensive and unique.

Bernie Bicknell
Bernie qualified as an Accountant in 1973 and commenced his career as a Commercial trainee with BHP before working for Conga Amalgamated, the food & wine division of the Valmorbida Group. He joined RJR Nabisco in 1981 and moved through various financial roles, before a major career change wherein he ran the Foodservice division. The sale of Nabisco to Uncle Tobys saw Bernie return to finance at ICI Dulux.
Brendan Bourke
With decades of experience with a diverse range of industrial products, Brendan is the firms’ business-to-business industrial products specialist. This spans manufacturing, importing, distribution and retail across hardware, refrigeration, lubricant, consumer durables, building products and industrial products. These skills have been applied across a variety of businesses from start-ups to intergenerational businesses.
Greg Bourke
Having commenced his career in the accounting profession, Greg completed an MBA and progressed from CFO roles to General Management and ran one of Australasia’s pre-eminent publicly listed FMCG Food Manufacturers. He has broad agribusiness and food expertise that spans farm gate through to major national retail and consumer brands.
Trevor Burt
Trevor's experience covers a range of industries including food, cosmetics, packaging, retail and wholesale as well as advertising and media and related areas such as research and public relations. Responsibilities included strategic planning activities, brand management, project management, staff management and new product development, amongst others.
Brian Chertkow
Brian commenced his career in South Africa in the aeronautical industry before moving into automotive components where he was at the forefront of the introduction of LEAN manufacturing. On immigrating to Australia he applied the principles to great effect as he empowered the key stakeholders to embrace the philosophies and principals of LEAN to all aspects of business.
Kerry L Chew
Kerry has experience in both business marketing and sales consultancy and in senior management roles in the hotel, tourism and leisure sector. She has a proven track record for increasing sales, market share and improving profitability. Kerry commenced her career with Queensland Tourism before making the transition to the hotel industry where she gained extensive experience in leadership roles from budget to luxury hotels, small independent hotels to large hotel chains.
Lance Chia
Lance has over 37 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, including private and public pathology laboratory operations and over 20 years in executive leadership roles with NYSE-listed companies, Abbott Laboratories and ResMed. Paul Coronel
Paul’s industry experience includes agribusiness; most sectors of manufacturing and associated supply chains from low volume high value products such as aircraft to low value high volume such as food products; underground and open cut mining; utilities (electricity/ telecommunications/ water); healthcare; legal and accounting professions; and government agencies and departments.
Mark Dalton
Mark’s background is in marketing and business development, having worked extensively in retail financial services in Australia and internationally with firms including American Express, AXA UK, Zurich Insurance and CGU (IAG), and with global marketing agencies WPP (London) and Leo Burnett (Sydney).
His work has a focus on strategy and planning that is pragmatic and actionable, incorporating customer and market insights to inform decisions, and leveraging engagement with stakeholders across the value chain.
Grahame Danaher
Grahame’s career began with the Federal Department of Health in an audit and investigatory role. He later accepted a role with the Western Districts Medical Benefit Fund (Westfund) where he developed a deep understanding of how superior healthcare outcomes could be sustainably funded. This career spanned over 40 years, the last 25 as CEO during which he steered Westfund to become one of Australia’s largest and most successful regional co-operative health insurance funds.
Andrew Dick
With a lifetime of involvement with agriculture, Andrew is the firms’ Agribusiness specialist. Having worked in the UK in the grains & malt industry, Andrew immigrated to Australia to lead AFFCO, which he developed from inception to lead a $2.9BN network of leading fruit companies. In 2011 he joined the firm and has applied his skills and experience to a wide range of businesses across many industry sectors. Andrew is retained in a mentoring, advisory and director capacity in many organisations. As part of his work he is a Chair of TECR 209 at the Executive Connection.
Stuart Diggins
Stuart has extensive public health system experience in managing the acquisition of medical devices and their whole-of-life maintenance and support. His experience broadens to more general areas of whole of health system support, including governance and standards - in both metropolitan and remote settings. He has significant project management and procurement experience.
Phil Downing
Phil is a chemical engineer who is a manufacturing and supply chain specialist with deep expertise gained in the petrochemical, confectionery, food and beverage industries. His experience spans greenfield factory development, construction, expansion, consolidation, automation, manufacturing management, QA, R&D, procurement and logistics across a wide range of industries and countries.
Bill Edwards
With an extensive career having led organisations including ITT Sheraton and IHG in the Australasia region, Bill’s background has seen him in functional roles of finance, development, marketing and human resources. His specialty is the re-positioning of hotels and businesses to improve investor returns by creating a human culture that knows how to beat the competition. Shean Gannon
Shean started his career in 1982 as a bridge design engineer for Vic Roads in Victoria, before joining Transfield PBM as a project engineer. In 1988 he helped establish Minson Constructions in Victoria, and in 1991 he moved to Fiji to establish Minson Fiji Ltd as the firms Sth. Pacific business, which included building and civil engineering works and equipment hire.

Mark Griffiths
Mark is a chemical engineer and specialised in computerised planning and scheduling systems in the petrochemical industry. These skills have been applied widely to review, mapping and documentation of a range of systems and processes since joining the firm and he has particular experience assisting a range of industry associations.
Colin Hannah
Colin joined nem in 2015 and is the Lead Partner for Medical, Health and Pharmaceutical. He has an extensive history of senior leadership roles in global health care corporations in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Most recently, Colin was Managing Director, Sanofi Aventis and Vice President of Commercial Operations for Hospira. Sector expertise includes commercialising leading products across many therapeutic areas that have had a profound impact on improving health outcomes.
Jo Hannah
Jo started her professional career in the UK in 1993 when she joined Janssen Cilag Pharmaceutical with a role in sales. This has expanded into a wealth of experience across the global healthcare and wellbeing markets.
In 2015 Jo co-founded and was CEO and Managing Director of a medical aesthetic company which acquired 16 medical practices as part of a rapid acquisition strategy resulting in the company listing on the ASX the following year.
David Herman
David is a business growth and transformation specialist who has more than 25 years’ experience in the tourism, leisure, retail and entertainment sectors. David has strategic and tactical experience in both the private and public sectors. He brings to nem a strong background in tourism/retail/leisure and is a champion of customer service/client insights. David also has an intimate understanding of the important working relationship between government and tourism.

Previously a partner at KPMG, Ian has over 25 years of experience in mergers and acquisition, with total sales exceeding A$5B covering many different industries. Ian has held senior positions in accounting, insurance, banking and investment banking. His skills cover capital raising for resort developments, preparation of property business plan and feasibility, funding and funding assessments for hotel developments.
Steven Lamande
Steven’s qualifications are in law and management which he initially applied in the public service and government utilities sectors. He has extensive experience in the pre and post privatisation eras of the electrical industry and is the firms’ utilities, governance and legal services specialist.
Glenn Mansfield
Glenn has applied finance and business qualifications which he applied in the agricultural, telecommunication, packaging and wine & beverage industries. He has extensive merger and acquisition experience and has assisted a very wide range of businesses since joining the firm in 2003.

Nick Mennell
A mechanical engineer that is a manufacturing and systems specialist spanning CAD, CAE, FEA and Topology Optimisation in addition to CAM, ERP, RDMS and PDM. Deep aerospace, automotive, motor sport and construction equipment industry expertise; in addition to working with a wide range of clients in a multitude of industries.
Thomas Monahan
Tom has international experience with senior positions in the USA, Europe and Asia, focused in areas of finance, business development and executive management. During this career he held senior positions with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham Hotel Group, Carlson Rezidor, and Chief Executive Officer for PT Lippo Karawaci in Indonesia.
Richard Moss
Richard is an aeronautical and advanced weapons systems electronics engineer with extensive military and civilian experience. Michael Neville
Michael joined nem in 2015 as a Partner in the Medical, Health and Pharmaceutical team. He has extensive commercial experience in medical devices covering anaesthetic delivery and patient monitoring, injection and IV medication delivery, advanced and conventional wound care.

Lloyd Parrant
Lloyd brings to the table a wealth of knowledge and experience in the business, construction and tourism industries. He has served as an officer in the New Zealand Army and has the ability to relate to people across the spectrum of society. He is a capable and practical architectural designer and project manager and he has been a consultant and advisor to many companies including GE Capital, Siemens and Macquarie Capital as well as individuals in property development and investment for the last 20 years.
Mark Rainbird
Originally a lawyer in Financial Services, Mark has had a diverse career in CEO / COO/ senior executive roles in technology related industries. He has developed significant expertise in the relationship between business strategy and executing business models, which has translated into an academic career teaching at MBA level and publishing several texts.
Ross Raymond
Has extensive experience growing and managing businesses in the extraction, construction and petrochemical sectors and is the firms’ environmental, recycling and extractive industry specialist. Ross also has extensive family business experience which he has applied to assist a multitude of business owners since joining the firm.

With a lifetime involvement with hotels, David has broad international experience having worked in senior management and corporate roles within the hospitality industry across Asia, the US, Australia and New Zealand. David has held Chief Operating Officer and Vice President roles for InterContinental Hotels Group, Starwood Hotels and Resorts and Dusit International. David Simpson
Extensive executive management roles for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. which spanned head of finance, acquisition, development and governance.
